Attorney Chris Rawls is a Founding Partner of the Lindsay and Rawls, LLC law firm. Chris is one of a few attorneys in the Northwest Georgia area to have tried both civil and criminal jury trials. His straight forward approach and compassionate demeanor are widely applauded by clients and peers alike. Chris’s practice focuses on criminal defense, civil and domestic litigation, and representation of minors and adults in juvenile court.
Chris’s education background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from North Carolina State University, and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. While attending UNC School of Law, Chris was on the Holderness Moot Court Team.
After finishing law school, Chris worked in Charlotte, North Carolina focused primarily in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Insurance Defense. After quickly building a foundation in the area of Workers’ Compensation, Chris became an Administrative Law Judge for the Industrial Commission of North Carolina.
His practice areas shifted course after going to work for the North Carolina Secretary of State. At the NC Secretary of State, Chris assisted with the regulation and investigations of investment firms and athlete agents in the State of North Carolina.
Chris and his family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee before the birth of his second child in 2012. His wife, Carmen, is a GPS graduate and grew up in Trenton, Georgia. Utilizing the experience gained while at the NC Secretary of State, Chris started taking appointed criminal cases and juvenile cases and handling domestic and civil cases.
In 2016, Christopher Townley hired Chris Rawls and the firm became Townley, Lindsay and Rawls. Chris attributes his growth as an attorney to the leadership, guidance, and mentorship of Christopher Townley.
On most days, you can find Chris Rawls in a courtroom in either Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade or Walker County. While quiet spoken in the office, his voice and laugh can be heard through the court houses when he is arguing. He understands that most people who have been charged with a crime or have a case with the Department of Family and Children Services are not bad people, they have just found themselves in a bad situation.
Chris is a father of three and can be found at night or on the weekends at sporting events with his children. Chris is also very active at his church, Calvary Chapel. As a father, he understands the importance of both parents actively involved in their children’s lives and will fight for his clients in domestic cases.
Despite his busy work schedule and family, Chris still finds time to serve on the Board of the Georgia Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a past president of the Lookout Mountain Bar Association.
